Christian counseling, as we perceive it, proposes an approach both biblical and practical to personality development, by consulting Him who created man in His own image, in order to have an authentic relationship with Him. (Gen. 1:26-28) It helps us understand how to escape from hopeless situations by allowing the Lord, through the Holy Spirit, to pull down the walls in our lives and let Him reconstruct our real identity in Jesus Christ. The basis for what we believe and teach is found in Isaiah 53: 4-5: Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
